About Purkey Puppies: Texas Goldendoodle Breeders in Dallas, TX & Midland, TX
Meet the Purkeys
We have always been dog people. After having black labs for many years, we decided to bring our first Goldendoodle, Daisy, into our family in 2018. We immediately fell in love with how gentle and loving she was toward our oldest son, Jason, who was 4 at the time. As Daisy grew, we loved the bond she had with Jason. She was very patient and let him do just about anything to her, including dressing her as a super hero and using her as a pillow. You can meet the parents and see the loving temperaments we aim to share through each litter.
We decided to begin breeding for two reasons:
1. We love our Daisy and wanted others to experience the joy of having such a kind and loving pet.
2. To raise money to cover medical and education costs for our son Jason, who has Cerebral Palsy.
Since we began breeding in 2020, we have loved providing others with the opportunity to have a furry family member who is low-maintenance and incredibly sweet. However, over the last few years, our goals in breeding have shifted slightly. We have decided to grow our program with the goal of creating a viable income source for Jason when he graduates from high school. Jason’s CP primarily affects his oral motor and speech ares of his brain. This means he gets his nutrition from a feeding tube and communicates with sign language, texting or his iPad. Because Jason can communicate electronically and physically manage the dogs, breeding would be a great way for him to provide for himself and live independently one day.
To accomplish this goal and still manage our full time jobs, kids and activities, we called in reinforcements! Jenna’s parents, Jim & Robbie Stinnett, and her sister’s family, Jessica, Jeff & Layla Gentry have joined the Purkey Puppies team. This allowed us to add two Purkey Puppies branches in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. We also added another 2 human kids, Josiah & Jovie, to the mix!
We love breeding Goldendoodles because of their gentle and kind nature…and because we hate having dog hair everywhere. A non-shedding dog is perfect for us! We are honored to help you find a Goldendoodle who will become a part of your family. Visit our available puppies page to see who’s ready to join your family next.
Meet the Stinnetts
We have had many dogs throughout our lifetime. They have become members of our family. Once our daughter, Jenna of Purkey Puppies, bought a Goldendoodle, we noticed what a wonderful, calm and loving dog “Daisy” was. She was wonderful with our grandson. As time passed, we decided to join in breeding Goldendoodles. We now have a home located on an acre and feel we have the necessary room to help grow the Purkey Puppies impact. We, Jim and Robbie, are both retired and have time to be
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed every step of the breeding journey. The highlight? Watching our puppies bond with their new families and seeing those lifelong connections form. We still receive heartwarming updates from some owners, which makes it all even more rewarding!
Meet the Gentrys
Jessica (sister to Jenna Purkey) grew up surrounded by dogs, and our family’s all-time favorite was a golden retriever named Hercules. His incredible personality stole our hearts, so when the Purkeys introduced Goldendoodles, we instantly fell in love with their playful and loving temperaments too!
Inspired by this, we joined Purkey Puppies to breed mini Goldendoodles. We welcomed Macey into our family in April 2023—she’s been an absolute joy and a perfect fit. Our medium Goldendoodle, Luna, is from one of Lizzy & Tye’s litters from inside the Purkey program.
